Founded in 1999 by brothers Shaw and Tom Matthews, Matthews Marine Inc. began by providing general crane barge services along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. With an early focus on mechanical dredging we have built equipment and developed techniques and capabilities over the past 15 years unmatched in the marketplace. We have rebuilt the best of "old world" equipment and combined with new construction and other late model equipment. In addition we utilize the latest technology in dredge positioning and surveying. Our most basic operating premise and key to success is the hands-on approach we as owners take to every project. This ensures we operate at the highest level of safety and efficiency to attain the goal of customer satisfaction. Matthews Marine takes great pride in the fact we are able to provide a livelihood for employees as well as a safe responsible working environment. We believe you can operate a successful maritime company while still protecting the lives and safety of our personnel and minimize our impact on the environment. Our commitment to safety and best management practice is evident through our involvement and membership in ISNetworld. We have been a member of ISNetworld since 2012 and have a Grade A rating. We are incorporated and licensed in the state of Mississippi and hold a current Certificate of Responsibility from the MS State Board of Contractors. We are also registered to do business in Alabama, Florida and Louisiana and hold a current contractors license in each of these states.
