Founded in 1968, the Hinds Career Center offers educational opportunities and career planning services to adults. It provides academic classes in auto collision repair technology, cosmetology, building construction and health occupations. The center also offers classes in business and machines trade technology, visual and graphics communication and welding. The Hinds Career Center provides technical, communication and teamworking skills development services. Additionally, it conducts several evening classes and provides basic education in English literature, reading, writing and math. The center is accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement. The Hinds Career Center maintains various student organizations, such as National Technical Honor Society and Student Advisory Committee. The center is located in Elwood, Ind.
