Founded in 1968, the Hinds Career Center offers educational opportunities and career planning services to adults. It provides academic classes in auto collision repair technology, cosmetology, building construction and health occupations. The center also offers classes in business and machines trade technology, visual and graphics communication and welding. The Hinds Career Center provides technical, communication and teamworking skills development services. The J. Everett Light Career Center is a technical and vocational education institution that offers a variety of courses for youths and adults. It enables students to gain industry-recognized credentials and certifications while pursuing high school credits. The center s facilities are spread over an area of more than 150,000 square feet, as well as include classrooms, laboratories, offices and instructional resource facilities. It also features an auditorium, onsite banking center, ATM and media facility with over 600 computers. The J. Everett Light Career Center provides professional guidance counseling services, as well as assistance with employment seeking after the completion of training.
