La Peña Cultural Center is a nonprofit performing arts and culture center in Berkeley. The center hosts classes, cultural exhibitions and public events relating to Latin American culture and a variety of other cultures from around the world. The center also sells Latin, homestyle food from its in-house restaurant, Café Valparaíso.
Wayne Foster Entertainment is one of the premiere providers of DJ's and music for high profile weddings and corporate events in Beverly Hills. It offers a wide array of music to choose from and works with its clients to make sure the playlist is exactly what they had in mind. It is located on the Garden Level of the 9601 building in Beverly Hills. Valet parking is available beneath the building.
Trinity Academy of Irish Dance is a prestigious dance school and training program with locations based around Illinois and Wisconsin, including one located in Elmhurst. For more than 30 years, the academy has provided students and audiences with inspiring performances and special programs. The academy offers a wide range of class options for students, including solo and extracurricular classes such as the river program, county program and province program, as well as the Trinity Performance Troupe.
Teachers offer students professional lessons in dance as well as sportsmanship, and also provides community outreach services and summer programs. Over the years, dancers from Trinity have earned 32 world titles and have been featured on shows including “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” “Good Morning America” and “The Martha Stewart Show.” Students are welcome to try a free class to see if the academy is right for them.
Budzynski Studio of Ballet specializes in instructing dancers from the beginner to the professional level. It also trains children in ballet as young as age four. It has been at the Ferry Road location since 2001. Budzinski Studios is the official ballet school of Dance Theater of Pennsylvania and students are offered the opportunity to perform in its production of The Nutcracker. The studio is also home to the Theatre Arts Center, offering classes in acting and musical theater.
Peninsula School of Performing Arts is a dance studio for young men and women ages 5 and up. It was established in the 1980s as a creative outlet for South Bay residents and has one other location in nearby Rolling Hills Estates. The school has classes in styles such as ballet, jazz and tap as well as acrobatics. Teams are put together to perform at various recitals. Adult classes are also available.
Touchstone Theatre is an acting ensemble that puts on theatrical performances throughout the year. The ensemble creates original productions and offers acting classes and training programs to the community. Be sure to check the website for current and upcoming performances.
