Ridgeview Park lies in the shadow of the Sussex water tower. It is a small neighborhood park designed mainly for the entertainment of the very young. It has a modern play structure and plenty of space.
Armory Park is the site of the village's veterans memorial. The park is located at the corner of Henry Clay Street and North Lake Drive, at the former site of the 32nd Division. Construction on the memorial began in 2009 and was completed in early 2010.
Serving the village's east side as a neighborhood park for passive recreation, Madeline has an expansive playfield for informal field sports.
North of the village center but south of Good Hope Road, Prides Crossing Park is a typical neighborhood destination for small children's play, but it also has enough room for informal field sports, and there is a backstop for sandlot baseball or softball.
Mapleway, located on the village's north side, is a children's play park. It features modern play structures, including a rope climbing web. The Parks and Recreation Department places portable toilets at Mapleway in the summer.
Grogan Park is a bit difficult to find, hidden at the end of a cul-de-sac on the west side of the village. But once located, visitors can enjoy the scenic fields with plenty of space for pick-up field sports. This location is one of the few neighborhood parks that has basketball courts. There is also a playground for the little ones.
Though various governmental functions operate out of other locations, Sussex Village Hall is the headquarters of village government. Regular Village Board meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, starting at 7pm. Village Hall houses the offices of the Village Administrator, Clerk-Treasurer, Building Inspector, Planning Department and more. Tax bills may be paid in person at Village Hall. Requests for access to public records of interest should begin at Village Hall. The village's cable television local access channel (25) is operated from this location, and official notices are also posted for public information and review.
