Texas Tech University, established in 1923, is a nationally recognized doctoral research university located in Lubbock, Texas. It is the flagship institution of the Texas Tech University System and has an enrollment of more than 28,000 students. The university offers various research and academic programs to students, including architecture, agriculture and natural resources, arts and sciences, business, education, engineering, honors, human sciences, and visual and performing arts. It offers libraries, recreational centers, cultural and sports activities, clubs and organizations, and housing and dining facilities to students. The university s sports teams are called the Raiders, and the sports activities offered include football, golf, basketball, baseball and athletics. Texas Tech University has a campus area of more than 1800-acres that include a law school, academic colleges and school of medicine.
