Napa County Landmarks is a non-profit that was incorporated in 1974 and is housed in downtown Napa proper. Its mission is to restore rather than replace historic monuments from the city's rich past. The organization sources funding in cooperation with the Napa County Historical Society. Donors include the Mead Foundation, the Community Foundation of Napa Valley and many private sources. The museum and research library are open Thursday to Saturday from noon until 4pm.
Established in 1955, the Napa Valley Model Railroad Historical Society was created to encourage model railroad hobbyists and to construct and maintain an HO Scale layout of Napa Valley and the surrounding areas. The society currently occupies a two-story building that serves as a library, meeting space and workshop. It also features Napa Valley Northern layout, which is housed in a 3,600-square-foot room and can be viewed at no charge.
