Founded in 1998, Dairy Farmers of America is a dairy marketing cooperative owned and operated by the dairy farmers. It is a manufacturer of dairy products, food components and ingredients. It formulates and packages shelf-stable products in cans and glasses. DFA operates manufacturing plants that produces a variety of dairy products, including American and Italian cheese, cultured dairy products, coffee creamers and sterilized infant and adult nutrition products. It also provides a range of dehydrated products; nonfat dry milk, dried whey products; ground, shredded and diced cheese; long shelf-life dairy products; and cheese sauces. Additionally, DFA offers market opportunities to farmers. The DFA Mart offers holiday gifts that comprise a cheese store, fundraising products, clothing store and DFA toy truck.
