Marks Farms is one of the largest, family-owned and operated dairies in Lewis County in New York. The dairy cares for more than 1,520 replacement heifers and calves, as well as milks over 3,000 dairy animals It grows nearly 2,500 acres of corn and approximately 2,100 acres of hay yearly. In operation for more than 10 years, Marks Farms employs a staff of over 50 people. The dairy manages working relationship with agribusiness consultants, extension agencies, public utilities, private industries and universities. In addition, Marks Farms has a patented machine, Alley Cat, which removes manure and waste streams from barns.
