The Peninsula Symphony Orchestra's mission is "to enrich the lives of our community with the highest quality musical presentations at modest prices, inspire greater awareness of and appreciation for music, and promote music education." The 2010/2011 season highlights include The 3 B's (Bach, Beethoven and Brahms) with Jon Nakamatsu, the Holiday Concert series and Great Moments in Opera. Performances are at several locations including the College of San Mateo, Flint Center/DeAnza College, San Mateo Performing Arts Center, Hotel Sofitel and Stanford Memorial Church.
Originally founded in 1964 and existing in its current location since 1987, Berkeley's Black Repertory Group has been helping Black culture thrive in its communtiy for decades. Its spacious, 250-seat theater on Adeline Street has played host to numerous African-American icons of film, theater, music and comedy over the years, and also hosts children's summer camps. The non-profit group puts on its own productions at this site, those of other theater groups, in addition to talent shows, town meetings and book signings.
Bowl America is a chain of bowling facilities located in Virginia and Maryland. This Falls Church location opened its door around 1960. It is truly a place for all ages. Bowl America is proud to host parties for birthdays, office workers, wedding receptions or other celebrations. Regular bowlers can join one of the leagues, which are for everyone from beginners to experienced bowlers. Cosmic Bowling with laser beams and a DJ blasting music takes place on Friday and Saturday nights. There is also a snack bar serving fast food, soft drinks and beer.
La Peña Cultural Center is a nonprofit performing arts and culture center in Berkeley. The center hosts classes, cultural exhibitions and public events relating to Latin American culture and a variety of other cultures from around the world. The center also sells Latin, homestyle food from its in-house restaurant, Café Valparaíso.
An affiliate of local boutique J. Della & Co., Bubble offers a variety of classes, seminars and groups for children and their parents. Bubble offers art, science, music, cooking, yoga, language and dance programs and also hosts children's parties and special events. Color Me Mine is a ceramics studio for children. Each store has more than 300 ceramic pieces to choose from. Children and parents choose a piece, sketch a design, select an underglaze, paint and fire it on site. Two additional stores are located in Burr Ridge and Naperville.
Trinity Academy of Irish Dance is a prestigious dance school and training program with locations based around Illinois and Wisconsin, including one located in Elmhurst. For more than 30 years, the academy has provided students and audiences with inspiring performances and special programs. The academy offers a wide range of class options for students, including solo and extracurricular classes such as the river program, county program and province program, as well as the Trinity Performance Troupe.
Teachers offer students professional lessons in dance as well as sportsmanship, and also provides community outreach services and summer programs. Over the years, dancers from Trinity have earned 32 world titles and have been featured on shows including “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” “Good Morning America” and “The Martha Stewart Show.” Students are welcome to try a free class to see if the academy is right for them.
Wooden Expressions is a custom wood carver that sculpts and creates signs, cabinetry, furniture, entertainment centers, mantels and more. In the words of owner and carver Luis Villareal "I love to bring wood back to life."

MCC is a sculptor working in stone, bronze, and foam with epoxy coatings. She creates both large public art sculptures and gallery pieces. Her latest invented medium is a combination of commercial foam and steel armatures, coated with water based epoxies and then finished with metal coatings or paint.
