IMAGO is a cooperative gallery owned and operated by local artists. This beautiful, light-filled 900+ sq. ft. space in the heart of Warren's tax-free arts district is perfect for showcasing artwork ranging from paintings and drawings to ceramics and installations. With regular art openings, lectures and performances, the gallery's mission is "to showcase, support and promote the visual and literary arts."
Portsmouth Art Guild is located on East Main Road. It houses many exhibitions and events throughout the year and displays the art of local artists of Aquidneck Island. It also offers classes and workshops for the public. You can become a member of the art guild to recieve special benefits and offers. There is parking located across the street and behind the building for customers.
Gallery Eleven Fine Art is owned and operated by a partnership of up-and-coming artists from Bristol and the East Bay area. The gallery is known for original paintings of seascapes, Bristol scenes and still life as well as fine-art printmaking and sculpture. New work is added as created and exhibit themes change frequently. The gallery participates in Art Strolls and other events sponsored by the Bristol Independent Galleries (BIG) and the Downtown Bristol Merchants’ Association (DBMA).
At the Pottery Wheel, everything you see is available for purchase and you're seeing a lot. The walls of the store are lined with amazing pieces of work and the kilns are ready to be fired. The Pottery Wheel is located just off of Post road.
At the Ratigan Art Studio, the tour begins with the works of art generously displayed in the sunken courtyard and on exterior walls of 58 Main Street. Enter the gallery and you'll see paintings and artifacts created in different mediums by Robert Ratigan and a group of guest artists. You will be encouraged to try on a pair of 3D glasses to experience the 3D mural room to best advantage.
Classes are given by Ratigan and visiting artists. When Ratigan's not busy running his gallery, he paints the town, literally, with his creative murals.
Fayerweather House is a historical landmark. It was formerly the house of the village blacksmith. It is currently a community arts and crafts center featuring space to display work and a shop for selling local work. It also is a public park area with forested and grassy areas for residents to walk around. The property is owned and operated by the Kingston Improvement Association.
